The Best Juicers for Celery

Celery is the hardest thing most people put through a juicer. That narrows the field before price does.

Celery is the hardest thing most people will put through a juicer, and the reason is structural. A stalk is long fibrous strands with liquid held between them. Those strands wrap an auger and ride a centrifugal basket instead of being cut by it. If celery is why you are buying, the machine decision is largely made before you look at a single price.

Why celery defeats centrifugal juicers

A centrifugal machine shreds produce against a flat toothed disc spinning at thousands of RPM, then throws the fiber outward against a mesh basket. To get liquid out of a celery strand you have to crush along its length. A cutting tooth crossing it at speed does something different: it chops the strand shorter and flings the pieces at the wall, where centrifugal force holds them without meaningfully squeezing them.

The result is wet pulp and thin juice. No speed setting helps, because a faster disc produces more short pieces rather than more crushing. This is the mechanism, not a tuning problem, and it is why we warn against cheap centrifugal machines for celery on every page that touches the subject. Masticating vs centrifugal has the full comparison.

The clogging problem, and what genuinely fixes it

Even on the right machine, celery jams. Long strands wrap around the auger instead of being carried along it, the space ahead fills, and the motor stalls. Three things address it:

  1. 1.A reverse function. Backs the auger out, unwinds the wrap, lets the blockage fall back. Nutribullet and AMZCHEF both state one, and for a celery juicer it is close to essential.
  2. 2.A narrow controlled chute. Counter-intuitive, but a narrow opening forces stalks into the auger one at a time rather than letting a bundle bridge across. Kuvings' 1.75 in auto-cut chute on the REVO830 is engineered around exactly this.
  3. 3.Cutting stalks to 1-2 in lengths. Free, and the single most effective thing you can do. Short pieces cannot wrap. It costs you a minute of prep and saves you the jam.

Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen. Every figure above is labeled with where it came from; “Not available” means we could not find a published source, not that the machine performs badly. How we pick.

Technique that makes a real difference

  • Cut short. 1-2 in pieces. Non-negotiable on a vertical machine.
  • Alternate with something firm. A piece of apple or cucumber every few stalks pushes accumulated fiber through and clears the screen as you go.
  • Feed slowly. Celery is the produce where patience pays most. Let the auger take each piece rather than pushing the next one in behind it.
  • Clear the screen partway through a big batch. Fiber builds up on the mesh and chokes the flow. Stopping once to rinse it is faster than finishing a slow session.
  • Keep the leaves or lose them deliberately. Celery leaves are bitter to some palates. That is a taste decision, not a machine one.

Cut to 1-2 in lengths. Short pieces physically cannot wrap the auger, which removes most jams before they happen.

How much celery a glass takes

More than people expect, and this is the running cost that ends more celery-juice habits than any machine fault does. We have not measured it ourselves and we are not going to quote a figure we cannot source -- but it is worth working out your own number before committing to a daily habit, because a bunch a day adds up fast. How much celery one cup takes shows how to measure it, and juicing on a budget covers what to do about the answer.

1. Best for celery overall

Kuvings REVO830

Kuvings REVO830 · $400+ · Our score 7.7/10

The only machine we cover with a feature built for this exact problem. Kuvings states a 1.75 in auto-cut chute specifically for celery and carrots, alongside a 3.5 in wide chute for everything else. A narrow controlled feed is precisely what stops long strands bridging and wrapping, and having a wide chute as well means you are not punished for it on apples. 50 RPM, 240 W, 15-year US warranty. Kuvings states 50 RPM, 240 WManufacturer claim: Kuvings USA · checked 2026-10-02

What works

  • Two chutes: whole fruit in the wide one, stringy produce in the narrow auto-cut one
  • The narrow chute is the one feature aimed squarely at celery clogging
  • 15-year warranty on the US listing

What does not

  • Warranty length differs by region - check the seller's terms, not the brand page
  • No published yield or cleanup-time figure to compare against rivals
  • Top of the price range

Skip this if: Counter height is tight - this is a tall vertical machine and it needs clearance above the chute to load whole fruit.

2. Best value for celery

Omega J8006HDS

Omega J8006HDS · $200–400 · Our score 7.9/10

A horizontal auger is the traditional answer for stringy produce, because you push celery along the screw rather than dropping it on top where it can bridge. Omega states 80 RPM, a triple-stage auger and a 15-year limited warranty. You will cut stalks to length and you will give up counter depth. Full review.

What works

  • 15-year warranty at a mid-range price
  • A horizontal auger handles stringy celery and greens well
  • Doubles as a nut-butter, pasta and sorbet extruder

What does not

  • Narrow chute means constant prep chopping
  • Takes significant counter depth
  • Omega publishes no yield or cleanup figure to compare

Skip this if: You juice mostly whole apples and oranges. You will spend your life chopping to fit a narrow horizontal chute.

3. Best budget celery juicer

Nutribullet Slow Juicer

Nutribullet NBJ50300 · $100–200 · Our score 7.4/10

The cheapest cold press machine with the feature celery owners need most: Nutribullet states a reverse function, which unwinds a wrapped auger in seconds instead of requiring you to take the drum apart mid-glass. 65 RPM, 150 W, small footprint. A 24 oz cup and a 1-year warranty are the trade.

What works

  • Cold press mechanics at a centrifugal-adjacent price
  • Reverse function, which is how you clear a celery jam
  • Small footprint at 17 in tall and 6.25 in wide

What does not

  • 1-year warranty against 15 years on the premium verticals
  • 24 oz catch cup forces breaks on bigger batches
  • No published yield, pulp or cleanup figures

Skip this if: You juice for more than one person. A 24 oz container means stopping and emptying mid-session.

4. Slowest crush for celery

Omega VSJ843

Omega VSJ843 · $400+ · Our score 8.0/10

At 43 RPM this is the slowest machine in our registry, and slow crushing is the mechanism long fiber responds to. Omega states a dual-edge single auger, 150 W and a 15-year limited warranty. It is genuinely slow in practice and the feed opening is narrow, so celery gets cut short before it goes anywhere near the machine.

Questions people ask

What is the best juicer for celery?
Kuvings' REVO830, because its 1.75 in auto-cut chute is the only feature in this category designed specifically for celery and carrots. Omega's J8006HDS is the best value answer, and Nutribullet's slow juicer the cheapest with a reverse function.
Can a centrifugal juicer juice celery?
It will produce some juice, but most of the stalk ends up in the pulp bin still wet. A spinning basket cuts across the fiber rather than crushing along it, and that is the mechanism rather than a model problem.
Why does celery clog my juicer?
The strands are long enough to wrap around the auger instead of being carried along it. Cutting stalks to 1-2 in lengths prevents most of it, and a reverse function clears the rest in seconds.
Do I need to cut celery before juicing?
On a cold press machine, yes -- 1-2 in pieces. It is the single most effective thing you can do to prevent jams, and it takes about a minute.
Is celery juice worth the produce cost?
That is a personal calculation and it depends on where you shop. What we can say is that celery juice takes considerably more raw material than most people expect, and that the produce bill, not the machine, is what usually ends the habit. Measure your own number before committing.
