Privacy Policy

What this site collects, what it does not, and how to ask us about it.

Last updated 2 October 2026. This policy explains what information Auger & Pulp collects when you use this site, why, and what we do with it. Auger & Pulp is published by MadGrey LLC.

The short version

Information you give us

The contact form. If you use it, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you submit. We use that only to read and reply to your message, and the message is delivered to the site owner's email inbox. We do not add you to a mailing list, because we do not operate one.

The form also carries two invisible anti-spam measures: a hidden field that real visitors never fill in, and a timestamp recording when the page loaded. Both exist to reject automated submissions, and neither collects anything about you.

Information collected automatically

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which are not. It sets cookies and collects the kind of data you would expect: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.

We use it in aggregate -- we are interested in which comparison people find useful, not in individuals. Google processes that data under its own terms; you can read Google's description of how it handles data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google's browser add-on.

Affiliate link clicks

When you click a buy button we record that the click happened, which merchant it was for, and which page it was on. That tells us which recommendations are useful. Those clicks pass through our own `/go/` path before forwarding you to the retailer.

Once you arrive at the retailer, that retailer's privacy policy applies, not ours. Amazon in particular sets its own cookies to attribute the purchase to us. We do not receive your name, your address, your payment details or what you ultimately bought -- the affiliate program reports only aggregate commission data to us.

Server logs

This site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and operational purposes. That is normal infrastructure logging rather than anything we analyze.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell or rent your data. To anybody, for any purpose.
  • We do not operate a mailing list or send marketing email.
  • We do not run display advertising networks on this site.
  • We do not require or offer accounts, so there is no password or profile to protect.
  • We do not collect payment information. All purchases happen at the retailer.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children. This site is intended for adults buying kitchen appliances.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. In practice the only personal data we hold is the content of any email you have sent us.

To make a request, or to ask us to delete an email exchange, write to contact@augerandpulp.com. For analytics data held by Google, use the Google opt-out above or your browser's cookie controls, since that data sits with Google rather than with us.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. We will not quietly broaden the collection and leave the old text standing -- the same principle as the correction policy in our editorial policy.
