Editorial Policy
Our sourcing standards, correction policy and the specific claims we have decided never to make.
This page is the set of rules the rest of the site is written under. It is public so you can hold us to it, and so you can tell when we have broken it.
Independence
We neither manufacture nor sell juicers. That matters more in this category than it might sound: several of the pages ranking for the biggest juicer comparison terms are published by companies whose entire catalog is one of the two machine types being compared.
We accept no payment, product or placement from manufacturers in exchange for a recommendation, a ranking or a mention. We have not been given any juicer by any brand -- which is also why this site makes no hands-on testing claims. We earn an affiliate commission on purchases through our links, disclosed on every commercial page and set out in full on the affiliate disclosure.
Sourcing standards
Every factual claim on this site traces to one of four places, and each is labeled on the page:
| Tier | Source | Used for | Labeled as |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | A published third-party test by a named tester at a publication with a stated method | Yield, pulp, cleanup time, noise | Published third-party test, with a link |
| 2 | Manufacturer documentation -- specification page, manual, support docs | RPM, wattage, part count, dishwasher-safe status, warranty, dimensions | Manufacturer claim, with a link |
| 3 | A pattern across multiple published user reviews | Reliability and cleanup pain points | Aggregated from published reviews -- and never expressed as a number |
| 4 | A live retailer listing | Current availability and price band | With the date checked |
| -- | No source exists | -- | Not available |
The rules that follow from that
- 1.A manufacturer claim is never presented as an independent finding. We write "Omega states 80 RPM", not "it runs at 80 RPM".
- 2.User reviews are never aggregated into a statistic. "Reviewers frequently mention the screen" is honest; "87 percent of reviewers say the screen clogs" is invented unless we counted and said how.
- 3.Citations are inline and linked, and they are normal follow links. Only affiliate links carry `rel="sponsored nofollow"`.
- 4.Every citation is dated. Specifications change between model revisions.
- 5.We never restate another publisher's claim as ours. Several yield percentages circulate in this category without attribution; we name whoever claimed them, or we omit them.
- 6."Not available" is a required answer, not a failure. A table where two cells say Not available is more trustworthy than one where all are filled.
- 7.No fabricated precision. If a source says "about a minute", we write "about a minute", not "58 seconds".
Claims we have decided never to make
- No hands-on testing claims. No "we tested", "in our testing", "in our kitchen", "after six weeks with it" or first-person sensory claims about a product. We have no test kitchen and no instruments. This is the single most consequential rule on this page, because three of the eight competitors we read while researching this category break it.
- No prices. Price bands only, derived from retailer listings on a stated date.
- No star ratings, review counts or testimonials. We hold no rating data of our own and will not restate anyone else's as ours. The editorial score explained on how we pick is clearly labeled as a judgment, not a rating, and it is never emitted as structured data.
- No health, nutrition, weight-loss or cleanse claims. We write about machines. We hold no medical or nutritional credentials, and on health-adjacent questions the right response is not to write the claim and then disclaim it -- it is not to write it.
- No invented credentials. Our author bio states that he is the owner-operator of the publisher and nothing more, because that is what we can support.
- No urgency or scarcity language. No countdowns, no "before the price goes up", no "limited time".
Correction policy
Email contact@augerandpulp.com with the page and what you believe is wrong. We will check the source.
- Where a factual claim changes, the page carries a dated correction note. Silent edits to factual claims are not acceptable. If we published something wrong, the record of the fix stays on the page.
- Typos, broken links and formatting are fixed silently. Those are not factual claims.
- Where we cannot verify a reported error either way, we say so on the page rather than leaving the original claim standing unqualified.
Update policy
Every content page carries a visible Last reviewed date, and it moves only when the content actually changes. A date that advances on its own is a freshness claim with nothing behind it, and it is one of the easiest ways for a site to mislead a reader who is doing the right thing by checking.
The same date is emitted as `dateModified` in the page's structured data, so the machine-readable version and the visible version cannot disagree.
Commercial pages are re-checked on a cadence, with priority on the ones that get the most use. The specific checks are: is every model still currently sold, has any manufacturer specification changed, and has any new third-party test been published that we should cite.
Authorship
One named person writes and maintains every page on this site: Brijon M., owner-operator of MadGrey LLC. There is no anonymous editorial board, no rotating freelance byline and no AI-generated author persona. The byline on every page links to the about page, where the bio states what he is and does not claim what he is not.
Imagery
All photography on this site is licensed stock. We have no manufacturer image library, so no image here is a photograph of a specific reviewed unit, and no caption or alt text implies otherwise. Where the appearance of a machine matters to a decision, the manufacturer's own product page is linked in the sources.
If we break one of these rules
Tell us at contact@augerandpulp.com. A policy page nobody can enforce is decoration, and the point of publishing this one is that it gives you something specific to hold us to.
