The Best Centrifugal Juicers

Wide chutes, fast glasses and low prices. Ranked for the produce this mechanism is genuinely good at.

We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we recommend or the order we rank things in. Full disclosure.

A centrifugal juicer shreds produce against a fast-spinning disc and throws the fiber outward into a basket. For apples, carrots, beets and peeled citrus it is quick, cheap and completely adequate. For celery and leafy greens it is the wrong tool, and no model on this page changes that.

The three things that actually differentiate these machines

Chute width. This is the feature you will feel every single morning. Breville states 3 in on the JE98XL and 3.5 in on the BJE830; Hamilton Beach and Mueller both state 3 in. A 3 in chute takes a whole apple, which means no board, no knife and no washing either of them.

Capacity. Breville's BJE830 holds 70 fl oz. BLACK+DECKER's cheaper machine holds 10 oz. That is the difference between juicing for a household in one pass and emptying the jug twice per glass.

Warranty. The spread here is genuinely odd and worth knowing: Hamilton Beach states 3 years on a sub-$100 machine, Mueller 2, and Breville 1 on both of its machines including the $400 one. That is not what price would predict.

Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen. Every figure above is labeled with where it came from; “Not available” means we could not find a published source, not that the machine performs badly. How we pick.

What wattage does and does not mean

More watts means a faster basket, not better juice. Mueller's 1100 W reaches up to 18,000 RPM; Breville's 850 W machine tops out at 12,000. The extra speed helps with genuinely hard produce and costs you noise, foam and a slightly more aggressive result on anything soft.

The useful way to read wattage is as a floor rather than a target. Below about 400 W -- BLACK+DECKER's JE2200B -- hard carrots and beets become work. Above about 800 W you have enough for anything in this category, and further increases are buying speed you may not want.

The honest limitation

Celery, kale, chard, spinach, wheatgrass and herbs. A spinning basket cuts across a long fiber at high speed, which largely relocates the strand rather than releasing the liquid held between its fibers -- so it arrives in the pulp bin close to intact and still wet. No speed setting, brand or technique fixes this, because it is the mechanism.

If leafy greens are in your plan, buy from the cold press category instead. We say this on every centrifugal page here because it is the most expensive mistake a first-time buyer makes: a cheap machine that cannot do the one job it was bought for. Masticating vs centrifugal is the full comparison.

Carrot juice in a glass beside fresh carrots
Carrots, apples and beets are where this mechanism is genuinely the better buy, and where the price advantage is real.

The picks in full

1. Best centrifugal overall

Breville Juice Fountain Plus JE98XL

Breville JE98XL · $100–200 · Our score 6.3/10

The default recommendation in this category for good reason. Breville states an 850 W dual-speed motor at 6,500 and 12,000 RPM and a 3 in feed tube, so whole apples go in whole and soft fruit gets the gentler setting. The carafe includes a froth separator, which is Breville tacitly acknowledging what fast juicing does. The 1-year warranty is the weak point. Full review.

Speed
Breville states dual speed: 6,500 RPM low and 12,000 RPM high, 850 WManufacturer claim: Breville · checked 2026-10-02

What works

  • 3 in chute takes whole apples, so there is no chopping
  • Two speeds, so soft fruit is not pulverized
  • Fast enough that a glass takes a couple of minutes end to end

What does not

  • Poor at celery and leafy greens by mechanism, not by tuning
  • Foam and faster oxidation are inherent to high-speed spinning
  • 1-year warranty

Skip this if: Celery or leafy greens are the reason you are buying. A spinning basket rides long fibers instead of crushing them.

2. Best for volume

Breville Juice Fountain Cold XL

Breville BJE830 · $200–400 · Our score 6.1/10

Breville states 1200 W, a 3.5 in chute -- the widest in our registry -- and 70 fl oz of juice capacity, which means a household batch in one pass with no stopping to empty. Breville also claims noise-reduction technology cutting mechanical noise by 40 percent, a relative claim with no decibel figure. At this price the 1-year warranty is harder to forgive.

Speed
Breville states 1200 W, multi-speedManufacturer claim: Breville · checked 2026-10-02

What works

  • Widest chute in this registry at 3.5 in
  • 70 fl oz in one go, so there is no stopping to empty
  • The only centrifugal here that makes a noise claim at all

What does not

  • Priced into cold-press territory while keeping centrifugal limitations
  • 1-year warranty at a premium price point
  • Large footprint

Skip this if: You want quiet, or you want greens. Breville's noise claim is relative to other centrifugals, not to a cold press.

Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor

Hamilton Beach 67601A · Under $100 · Our score 6.7/10

800 W and a 3 in chute for well under $100, and the genuinely notable part: Hamilton Beach states a 3-year limited warranty, three times what Breville gives on machines costing twice as much. Every part that touches juice is dishwasher safe per Hamilton Beach. No RPM published, and it is loud.

  • Centrifugal, so it is poor at celery and greens
  • No RPM published
  • Loud, as all high-speed spinning juicers are

4. Most power under $100

Mueller Austria Juicer Ultra

Mueller Ultra 1100 W · Under $100 · Our score 6.2/10

Mueller states 1100 W with dual speeds spanning 12,000 to 18,000 RPM and a 3 in chute, plus a 2-year warranty and an Italian-made micro-mesh filter. It will not stall on anything. It is also the fastest figure in our entire registry, which makes it the loudest machine here and the most aggressive on soft produce.

What works

  • Most power under $100
  • Dual speed for soft and hard produce

  • Centrifugal mechanics, so it is the wrong tool for celery and greens
  • No published yield or cleanup data

Questions people ask

What is the best centrifugal juicer?
Breville's JE98XL for most people: 850 W, two speeds and a 3 in feed tube so whole apples go in whole. Hamilton Beach's Big Mouth is the better value under $100, with a longer warranty than Breville offers.
Are centrifugal juicers any good?
For apples, carrots, beets, cucumber and peeled citrus, yes -- fast, cheap and perfectly capable. For celery, kale and wheatgrass the mechanism works against you and no setting fixes it.
How many watts do I need in a centrifugal juicer?
800 W is plenty for anything in this category. Below 400 W hard carrots and beets become a struggle. Above 1000 W you are buying basket speed, which brings more noise and foam rather than better juice.
Which centrifugal juicer has the widest chute?
Breville's BJE830 Cold XL at 3.5 in, the widest in our registry. The JE98XL, Hamilton Beach Big Mouth and Mueller Austria Ultra all state 3 in, which is already enough for a whole apple.
Do centrifugal juicers make less juice?
On fibrous produce, clearly less usable juice, because the fiber passes through largely uncrushed. On hard watery produce the difference narrows a lot. Nobody publishes a figure for either case, so we describe the mechanism rather than quantifying it.
