Ninja NeverClog JC151 Review

Two swappable pulp filters and every part dishwasher safe. Ninja also does not publish how fast it turns.

Two pulp filters is genuine choice rather than a marketing line, and it is the right feature for somebody who does not yet know whether they like pulp in the glass. Combined with dishwasher-safe removable parts it removes two of the three common objections to cold press juicing. What Ninja will not tell you is how fast the auger turns.

Everything Ninja publishes for this model. Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen. Every figure above is labeled with where it came from; “Not available” means we could not find a published source, not that the machine performs badly. How we pick.

What Ninja states

  • Two pulp filters, for less pulp or more pulp.
  • 150 W, 120 V, 1.25 A.
  • All removable parts dishwasher safe.
  • A 24 oz jug and a 36 oz pulp container on the standard configuration, with a 30 oz pitcher cited on some listings.
  • 12.11 x 7.15 x 15.93 in.
  • A 1-year limited warranty in the US; two years in some other regions.
  • Second generation of the NeverClog design.

No RPM figure appears on Ninja's product page, which puts this machine in the same position as the Cuisinart CSJ-300: you cannot compare it on speed with anything. For a category whose whole identity is "slow", declining to publish the speed is a notable omission.

The two pulp filters

This is the feature, and it is worth more than it sounds for a first juicer. Pulp preference is genuinely personal -- some people want clean liquid, some want body -- and it is almost impossible to know which you prefer until you have drunk a few glasses.

Most machines decide for you with a fixed screen. Here you swap filters and find out. In a household with differing opinions it settles an argument, and for tomato or watermelon juice -- where pulp is often wanted -- it is practically useful. See juicer pulp explained.

Dishwasher safe is the other real feature

Ninja states that all removable parts are dishwasher safe. That is a different strategy from Hurom's and Cuisinart's -- rather than making the washing easier, it makes it somebody else's job.

It is unusual at this price. Among the cold press machines we cover, Ninja is the only one to state it explicitly; Nutribullet and Cuisinart do not on the pages we checked. Among centrifugal machines it is more common -- Hamilton Beach and BLACK+DECKER both state it.

One caveat worth keeping: a dishwasher cycle is slow and you may want the machine again tomorrow morning. In practice most owners rinse immediately and dishwasher-clean periodically, which is the best of both. Cold press juicer cleanup covers the routine.

The name, and what it does not promise

NeverClog is a brand name, not a specification. Ninja does not state a reverse function on the pages we checked, and a reverse function is the feature that actually resolves a jam when one happens. If celery is your main ingredient, Nutribullet's reverse function is the more useful safeguard at a similar price.

Who this is for

Somebody buying a first cold press juicer who wants to discover their own pulp preference rather than guess it, and somebody who would like the dishwasher to handle the washing. Also somebody who juices tomatoes, watermelon or other produce where retaining pulp is desirable.

Who should skip it

Anybody who wants a published speed figure, and anybody who wants a long warranty -- one year is short for a machine at this price, particularly against Cuisinart's three in the same band.

Also anybody juicing a lot of celery, where a reverse function matters more than pulp filters. And anybody juicing for several people, since a 24-30 oz jug means stopping to empty.

Where it appears on this site

The JC151 appears on best juicers under $200, the easiest juicers to clean, best juicers for beginners, cold press for beginners, juicers for tomatoes and juicers for watermelon. Head-to-heads: Ninja NeverClog vs Nutribullet and Breville JE98XL vs Ninja NeverClog.

Ninja NeverClog JC151

Ninja JC151 · $100–200 · Our score 7.9/10

Ninja states two swappable pulp filters -- one for less pulp, one for more -- and that every removable part is dishwasher safe, which for a cold press machine at this price is unusual. 150 W, 120 V, 12.11 x 7.15 x 15.93 in. The gaps: Ninja publishes no RPM figure, and the US warranty is 1 year (2 in some regions).

What works

  • Genuine pulp choice: two filters, not a marketing claim
  • Dishwasher-safe removable parts
  • Widely stocked at the big retailers, so it is easy to find and easy to return

What does not

  • 1-year US warranty
  • Ninja publishes no RPM, so it cannot be compared on speed
  • 24-30 oz jug means emptying on bigger batches

Skip this if: You want a long warranty. Ninja covers this for one year in the US, against 15 on the premium verticals.

Questions people ask

Does the Ninja NeverClog actually never clog?
NeverClog is a brand name rather than a specification. Ninja does not state a reverse function, which is the feature that resolves a jam when one occurs. Cutting celery to short lengths and feeding slowly is what actually prevents clogs.
What RPM is the Ninja NeverClog JC151?
Ninja does not publish one -- only 150 W. That means the machine cannot be compared with other cold press juicers on speed, which is a genuine gap in the published data.
Are the Ninja JC151's parts dishwasher safe?
Ninja states that all removable parts are dishwasher safe. Among the cold press machines we cover it is the only one to state this explicitly.
What do the two pulp filters do?
One retains less pulp, one more, and you swap them depending on the juice you want. It is genuinely useful for a first juicer, because pulp preference is personal and hard to predict before you have tried both.
What is the Ninja NeverClog's warranty?
Ninja states a 1-year limited warranty in the US, with two years in some other regions. That is short for the price -- Cuisinart quotes three years in the same band.
