Hurom H400 Easy Clean Review

Hurom removed the mesh strainer. That is the most direct answer anyone has given to the reason people stop juicing.

The H400 has no mesh strainer. That single design decision addresses the most common reason juicers stop getting used, and it does so structurally rather than cosmetically. The costs are a 45 mm chute that guarantees chopping, and yield claims that are Hurom's own with nothing independent behind them.

What Hurom states

  • 90 RPM -- the fast end of slow juicing.
  • 150 W.
  • A 45 mm (1.8 in) chute.
  • 169 x 261 x 471 mm (6.6 x 10.3 x 18.5 in), 6.7 kg (14.8 lb).
  • A 15-year warranty on motor and parts.
  • Scrub-Free Cleaning -- marketing language for the strainer-free design.
  • The highest yield and least pulp across any Easy Clean model -- a claim scoped to Hurom's own range, with no figure.

Why no strainer is the right problem to solve

On a conventional cold press juicer, every part rinses in seconds except one: the fine mesh screen. Pulp dries into the perforations and has to be dislodged individually with a brush. That is the component people describe when they say cleaning a juicer is a chore.

Hurom's Easy Clean range does not improve the strainer -- it removes it. There is no mesh to brush, which is why the brand can market Scrub-Free Cleaning without it being an empty claim. Cuisinart does the same thing at a third of the price with its mesh-free CSJ-300, less refined but mechanically the same idea.

What it costs: a fine screen is what holds back very fine pulp. Remove it and you generally get slightly more sediment in the glass and slightly wetter pulp in the bin. Hurom publishes no figure for that trade, so we describe it rather than quantify it. Whether it is a loss depends on whether you like body in your juice.

The warranty is the quiet headline

Hurom states 15 years on motor and parts. Across our whole registry, that is the strongest warranty commitment we found. Nama covers its motor for 15 years and parts for 2. Ninja and Nutribullet cover everything for 1 year. Tribest covers 10 to 12.

Motors in slow juicers rarely fail. Augers crack, screens deform and drums wear. A brand covering those for 15 years is making a much more expensive promise than one covering only the motor, and it is worth more than any yield claim on the page.

The claims we are not repeating

Who this is for

Somebody who has owned a juicer and stopped using it because of the washing up. That is a large group, and this is the machine built for them. Also somebody who wants the longest parts cover available, and somebody who wants a premium vertical light enough -- 14.8 lb -- that putting it away is realistic.

Who should skip it

Anybody who juices wheatgrass or very fibrous greens regularly. The wide-gap strainer-free design trades fine-screen extraction for speed at the sink, and wheatgrass is where a fine screen earns its keep -- see juicers for wheatgrass.

Also skip it if prep is your objection rather than cleanup. The 45 mm chute means real chopping every session, and Kuvings' REVO830 with its 3.5 in wide chute is the machine that addresses that instead.

Washing kitchen utensils at a sink with a brush
The mesh screen is the only genuinely slow part of cleaning a cold press juicer. This machine does not have one.

Hurom H400 Easy Clean

Hurom H400 · $400+ · Our score 8.0/10

Hurom states 90 RPM, 150 W, a 45 mm chute, 14.8 lb and -- the number that matters most -- a 15-year warranty on motor AND parts, where most brands cover parts for one to two years. The Easy Clean design has no mesh strainer at all, which is a structural answer to cleanup rather than a better brush. Hurom's yield and pulp claims are its own and scoped to its own range; no independent test we could find verifies them.

What works

  • No mesh strainer to scrub - the design removes the part people complain about most
  • 15 years on motor AND parts, which is rare
  • Lighter than most verticals at 14.8 lb, so storing it away is realistic

What does not

  • 1.8 in chute means real prep chopping
  • The yield and pulp claims are Hurom's own and unverified by any test we could find
  • 90 RPM is the fast end of slow juicing

Skip this if: You juice a lot of wheatgrass or very fibrous greens - the wide-gap Easy Clean design trades some fine-strainer extraction for speed at the sink.

Questions people ask

Is the Hurom H400 easy to clean?
By design, yes -- there is no mesh strainer, which is the part of a cold press juicer that genuinely takes time. Hurom markets it as Scrub-Free Cleaning but publishes no cleanup time in minutes, so we show Not available rather than a figure.
What is the Hurom H400's warranty?
Hurom states 15 years on motor and parts. That parts cover is the strongest we found anywhere in our registry -- Nama covers parts for 2 years and Ninja and Nutribullet for 1.
Does the Hurom H400 have the highest yield?
Hurom claims it has the highest yield of any Easy Clean model, which is a comparison within its own range with no number attached. We found no independent test verifying it, so we do not present it as a category claim.
Do I have to chop produce for the Hurom H400?
Yes. Hurom states a 45 mm chute, which is under two inches, so whole apples and long celery need cutting. If prep is your main objection, a wide-chute machine is the better answer.
Is the H400 good for wheatgrass?
It is not the machine for it. The strainer-free design trades fine-screen extraction for easier cleaning, and wheatgrass is exactly where a fine screen matters. A horizontal or twin gear machine is the right tool there.
