Hurom vs Ninja Juicers

Both sell a cold press that is easy to clean. One publishes its speed and covers it for fifteen years; the other does neither.

Buy the Hurom H400 if you want the machine that will still be covered in a decade and you accept paying several times more for it. Buy the Ninja NeverClog if you want a working cold press with dishwasher-safe parts and pulp control for a mid-range price, and you can live with a one-year warranty and no published RPM. These are not close on specifications; they are close on the one thing both brands market, which is easy cleaning.

Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen. Every figure above is labeled with where it came from; “Not available” means we could not find a published source, not that the machine performs badly. How we pick.

Two different solutions to the same problem

Both brands identified cleanup as the thing that makes people stop juicing, and both engineered against it -- in opposite directions. Hurom removed the part. The Easy Clean line has no mesh strainer at all, which Hurom markets as Scrub-Free Cleaning; there is nothing to scrub because the slowest-to-wash component is absent. Ninja kept the part and moved the work. It states the removable parts are dishwasher safe, and it supplies two pulp filters so you choose texture rather than fighting the filter.

Both are honest approaches. Which is better depends on whether you own a dishwasher and whether you would actually run it daily for juicer parts. Neither brand publishes a cleanup time in minutes -- nobody on this site does -- so there is no number to settle it with.

The empty cells on the Ninja column are the finding. A brand that does not publish an RPM is telling you something about how it expects to be compared.

What the warranty gap is worth

Fifteen years against one is the widest gap on this comparison and the hardest to price. No brand in this category publishes a service life, an expected cycle count or a duty rating for home use, so the warranty term is the closest thing to a manufacturer's own estimate of durability -- and Hurom's covers parts as well as the motor, which is the unusual part. Most long warranties here cover the motor and give parts two years, Nama's included. Parts are what wear on an auger machine.

Against that: a one-year warranty on a machine costing a quarter as much is not obviously the worse deal. If the Ninja fails in year three you can replace it and still be behind what the Hurom cost. The case for the Hurom is not arithmetic, it is that you only buy and learn one machine. How long a juicer lasts sets out every warranty term we have, brand by brand.

Which produce changes the answer

If celery or wheatgrass is the main plan, neither of these is the obvious buy and the honest recommendation is elsewhere. Hurom's own listing notes that the wide-gap Easy Clean design trades fine-strainer extraction for cleaning speed, which makes it a weaker choice for very fibrous greens; and Ninja publishes nothing that would let you judge its performance there at all. A horizontal auger is the right geometry for stringy produce -- see vertical vs horizontal juicers and juicers for leafy greens.

If soft and mid-hard produce is the plan -- apples, cucumber, oranges, carrots in moderation -- both machines do the job and the decision collapses to price and warranty.

One brand deleted the strainer. The other sent it to the dishwasher. Both are real answers.

The picks in full

1. Better machine, if the budget reaches

Hurom H400 Easy Clean

Hurom H400 · $400+ · Our score 8.0/10

Hurom's Easy Clean design removes the mesh strainer altogether, which is the single most effective answer to the cleanup problem anyone sells. It states 90 RPM at 150 W, a 45 mm (1.8 in) chute, 14.8 lb, and 15 years on motor and parts -- not just the motor, which is rare. The caveats are real: the wide-gap design trades some fine-strainer extraction for sink speed, so wheatgrass and very fibrous greens are not its strength, and its "highest yield and least pulp" claim is scoped to Hurom's own range with no figure and no independent test we could find.

Speed

What works

  • No mesh strainer to scrub - the design removes the part people complain about most
  • 15 years on motor AND parts, which is rare
  • Lighter than most verticals at 14.8 lb, so storing it away is realistic

What does not

  • 1.8 in chute means real prep chopping
  • The yield and pulp claims are Hurom's own and unverified by any test we could find
  • 90 RPM is the fast end of slow juicing

Skip this if: You juice a lot of wheatgrass or very fibrous greens - the wide-gap Easy Clean design trades some fine-strainer extraction for speed at the sink.

2. Better value, by a long way

Ninja NeverClog JC151

Ninja JC151 · $100–200 · Our score 7.9/10

At a fraction of the Hurom's price, Ninja states two pulp filters -- one for less pulp, one for more -- dishwasher-safe removable parts, and 150 W. For a weekday habit where the routine is rinse, rack and walk away, that is a genuinely good fit. Two gaps to weigh: Ninja publishes no RPM for this machine, which matters because speed is the one spec that predicts noise and heat, and the US warranty is 1 year against Hurom's 15.

What works

  • Genuine pulp choice: two filters, not a marketing claim
  • Dishwasher-safe removable parts
  • Widely stocked at the big retailers, so it is easy to find and easy to return

What does not

  • 1-year US warranty
  • Ninja publishes no RPM, so it cannot be compared on speed
  • 24-30 oz jug means emptying on bigger batches

Skip this if: You want a long warranty. Ninja covers this for one year in the US, against 15 on the premium verticals.

3. The third option both ignore

Cuisinart Easy Clean Slow Juicer

Cuisinart CSJ-300 · $100–200 · Our score 7.7/10

If the appeal of the Hurom is the missing strainer and the appeal of the Ninja is the price, this is the machine that splits them. Cuisinart states a mesh-free easy-clean filter -- the same structural idea as Hurom's -- at 200 W, with a limited 3-year warranty, three times Ninja's. What you give up is knowing what you bought: Cuisinart publishes no RPM for this model anywhere we could find.

What works

  • No mesh screen, so the part most people hate washing is simply absent
  • 3-year warranty, triple what Ninja and Nutribullet quote
  • 1.5 L capacity is generous for the price

What does not

  • Cuisinart publishes no RPM, so you cannot compare its speed to anything
  • No yield figure of any kind
  • Mesh-free filters generally trade some fine extraction for easier washing

Questions people ask

Is Hurom better than Ninja?
On published specification and warranty, clearly: Hurom states 90 RPM, a 45 mm chute and 15 years on motor and parts, while Ninja publishes no RPM and covers the NeverClog for 1 year in the US. On value it is not clear at all -- the Ninja costs a fraction as much, has dishwasher-safe parts and offers two pulp filters.
Does the Ninja NeverClog really not clog?
Ninja's name for it is a marketing claim, not a measurement, and nothing we could find tests it. What Ninja does state is two pulp filters and dishwasher-safe removable parts. If clogging is your specific worry, the mechanism that attacks it directly is a metered chute like the Kuvings REVO830's 1.75 in auto-cut one, or a horizontal auger.
Is the Hurom H400 worth the extra money?
It is if the thing that ended your last juicing habit was the sink, and if you value 15 years of cover on motor and parts. It is not if you juice wheatgrass or very fibrous greens, because Hurom's own wide-gap Easy Clean design trades fine-strainer extraction for cleaning speed.
Which is quieter, Hurom or Ninja?
Unknown, and we will not guess. Neither brand publishes a decibel figure -- only AMZCHEF does, across this entire site. Hurom states 90 RPM for the H400 and Ninja publishes no RPM at all, so there is not even a speed proxy to compare on.
Are Hurom and Ninja juicers the same type?
Yes -- both the H400 and the NeverClog JC151 are vertical masticating, or cold press, machines using a slow auger rather than a spinning basket. That is why this is a close comparison despite the price gap; they are doing the same job by the same method.
