Juicer Gifts Under $50

The budget is the easy part. The trick is buying something that gets used whether or not they already own a machine.

We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we recommend or the order we rank things in. Full disclosure.

Under fifty dollars you are not buying a machine for leafy greens, and you should not try -- a cheap general-purpose juicer that cannot handle the produce somebody wants is a worse gift than a small tool that works perfectly. What this budget buys well is citrus, and citrus tools are useful to almost everybody.

Why citrus is the right answer at this budget

Citrus is the one kind of produce that does not need a juicer. The fruit is already liquid in soft segments, so the only job is pressure -- which means a simple tool does it genuinely well rather than doing it badly for less money. A $25 reamer extracts citrus juice properly. A $45 general juicer does not extract celery juice properly.

The second reason is duplication risk. If your recipient already owns a cold press machine, another machine is an awkward gift. A citrus tool is not: even people with expensive juicers reach for a hand squeezer for one lemon, because setting up and washing a whole machine for two tablespoons of juice is absurd.

What to avoid under $50

  • A general-purpose juicer. The cheapest machines in our registry are around $35, and while they work, they are 400 W with a 10 oz pitcher. As a gift that communicates less than a tool that excels at its job.
  • Anything for celery or greens. The only masticating machine we found under $100 is roughly double this budget. Under $50 the honest answer is that this produce is not covered.
  • Accessories for a machine you have not identified. Replacement screens, filters and attachments are model-specific, and guessing wrong makes for an unusable gift.
Citrus halves and a lime drink on a bar counter
A good citrus tool earns its drawer space in cooking and cocktails, not just juice.

The picks in full

1. Best gift under $50 overall

Cuisinart Pulp Control Citrus Juicer

Cuisinart CCJ-500 · Under $100 · Our score 8.3/10

A complete electric juicer for under fifty dollars, which only works because it does one job. Cuisinart states three pulp control settings and a limited 3-year warranty -- longer cover than Breville or Ninja give on machines costing several times more -- and the auto-reversing cone handles small limes through large grapefruit. For a household that drinks orange juice, this gets used every morning. It does citrus and nothing else, so only buy it if citrus is genuinely the thing.

What works

  • Three pulp settings at a budget price
  • The auto-reversing cone handles small limes and large grapefruit
  • 3-year warranty

What does not

  • Citrus only
  • Cuisinart publishes no power figure
  • 8 oz working capacity means pouring off as you go

Skip this if: You want one juicer for everything. This does citrus and nothing else.

2. Safest gift at any budget

Chef'n FreshForce Citrus Juicer

Chef'n · Under $100 · Our score 8.7/10

The gift with no failure mode. Chef'n states a dual-gear hinge that multiplies hand pressure, it is top-rack dishwasher safe, and it lives in a drawer. Useful to somebody who owns a $600 juicer, because nobody runs a whole machine for one lime, and useful to somebody who owns nothing. The only caveat is that it needs hand strength, so for a recipient with grip or joint problems choose a lever press instead.

What works

  • The dual gear mechanism multiplies hand pressure
  • One piece, dishwasher safe, and it lives in a drawer
  • The cheapest tool on the whole site

What does not

  • The 20 percent claim is Chef'n's own and has no stated comparison basis
  • It still needs hand strength - read the arthritis guide before buying
  • Lemon and lime sized, not orange sized

Skip this if: You want a full glass of orange juice. Handheld squeezers are for a few ounces, not a breakfast habit.

3. Best under $25

OXO Good Grips 2-in-1 Citrus Juicer

OXO · Under $100 · Our score 8.4/10

A two-size reamer over a 1.5 cup measuring jug with the strainer built in, dishwasher safe per OXO. The measuring markings are the quietly useful part: for cooking, "two tablespoons of lemon juice" becomes something you can actually read off rather than guess. Covers limes through grapefruit. All the effort is the user's, which is the trade at this price.

  • All the effort is yours
  • 1.5 cup capacity
  • No published yield figure

Skip this if: Your hands tire or ache. A reamer needs sustained twisting pressure, which is exactly what a press removes.

If you can stretch

The next genuinely different thing is a lever press -- more money, no motor, and far kinder to hands because the lever does the force multiplication. Best citrus presses covers them. And if the recipient has actually been talking about starting a juicing habit rather than just squeezing lemons, the honest advice is to look at gifts for juice lovers or juicers under $200 instead, where a real machine becomes possible.

Questions people ask

Can you buy a decent juicer for under $50?
A decent citrus juicer, yes -- Cuisinart's CCJ-500 is a complete electric reamer with three pulp settings and a 3-year warranty in that range. A decent general-purpose juicer for greens and hard produce, no. The cheapest masticating machine we found is roughly double this budget.
What is the best juicing gift under $50?
A citrus tool, because it is the one thing in this category a simple device does properly rather than adequately. The Cuisinart reamer if they drink citrus juice daily, a Chef'n or OXO hand tool if they mostly cook with it.
Will a cheap citrus juicer work as well as an expensive one?
For the juice itself, close enough that most people would not care. What more money buys is effort: a lever press does the squeezing for you, which matters for volume and for anyone with sore hands. The extracted juice is much the same.
What if they already own a juicer?
A citrus tool is still a good gift, which is exactly why it is our recommendation at this budget. Nobody assembles and washes a full machine for one lime, so a drawer-sized squeezer gets used alongside even an expensive juicer.
