Nutribullet Slow Juicer Review

The cheapest genuine cold press machine, in the smallest footprint. Two compromises, both honest.

We earn a commission if you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we recommend or the order we rank things in. Full disclosure.

This is the cheapest way into genuine cold press juicing, and the two things it gets right are the two things a first-time owner actually needs: a reverse function and a footprint that fits. The compromises -- a 24 oz cup and a 1-year warranty -- are real, and for somebody finding out whether juicing will stick they are the right compromises to accept.

What Nutribullet states

  • 65 RPM from a high-torque, low-speed motor.
  • 150 W.
  • A reverse function.
  • A 24 oz juice container.
  • Assembled dimensions of 17 in high x 6.25 in wide x 7 in deep, with a 39 in cord.
  • BPA-free construction.
  • A 1-year limited warranty.
  • Model number NBJ50300.

Why the reverse function matters this much

Cold press juicers jam, and the usual culprit is celery -- long strands wrap the auger instead of being carried along it, the space ahead fills, and the motor stalls. It happens to everybody, usually in the first week, usually because they fed it too fast.

Without a reverse function, clearing that means switching off, taking the drum apart over the sink, pulling the wrapped fiber off the auger and reassembling -- mid-glass, probably already late. With reverse, you hold a button, the auger unwinds, and the blockage drops back out of the chute. It takes five seconds.

That is why we weight it so heavily for a first machine. Only two machines in our registry state one: this and AMZCHEF's ZM1501. See juicer clogging fixes for the technique that prevents jams in the first place.

The footprint is the other quiet advantage

6.25 in wide is narrower than anything else we cover, and the strongest predictor of whether a juicer keeps being used is whether using it requires lifting it out of a cupboard first. A machine the width of a tall kettle finds counter space in almost any kitchen.

Check the height though: 17 in assembled, and you need clearance above that to drop produce into the chute. Standard clearance between a counter and a wall cabinet is often around 18 in, which makes this tight rather than impossible. Measure first. Best compact juicers covers the issue properly.

The compromises, stated plainly

  • A 24 oz container. A decent glass is 12 to 16 oz, so for one person it is fine and for two it means stopping to empty.
  • A 1-year limited warranty, against the 15 years Omega, Hurom and Kuvings quote. That is the clearest gap between this band and premium.
  • 150 W. Enough for greens, celery and soft produce; it is working hard on a daily carrot-and-beet habit.
  • No published yield, pulp or cleanup figure. Same as every machine on this site.

Who this is for

Somebody buying a first cold press juicer who has not yet decided whether juicing will become a habit. The outlay is survivable if it does not, the mechanics are correct if it does, and the reverse function means the predictable early frustration is a five-second fix rather than a reason to give up.

Also somebody in a small kitchen, and somebody making ginger shots -- where a 24 oz container is irrelevant because the output is two ounces. See best juicers for ginger shots.

Who should skip it

Anybody juicing for more than one person, because of the container. Anybody who already knows juicing is a long-term habit -- at that point Omega's J8006HDS and its 15-year warranty is the better allocation of money. And anybody juicing hard carrots and beets daily, where 150 W is working harder than it should.

A small bright kitchen with limited counter space
6.25 in wide. A juicer that fits on the counter gets used; one in a cupboard does not.

Nutribullet Slow Juicer

Nutribullet NBJ50300 · $100–200 · Our score 7.4/10

Nutribullet states 65 RPM, 150 W, a reverse function and assembled dimensions of 17 x 6.25 x 7 in -- the smallest genuine cold press machine in our registry. The reverse function is the single most useful feature a beginner can have, because it clears a celery jam in seconds instead of requiring you to take the drum apart. The compromises are a 24 oz container and a 1-year limited warranty.

What works

  • Cold press mechanics at a centrifugal-adjacent price
  • Reverse function, which is how you clear a celery jam
  • Small footprint at 17 in tall and 6.25 in wide

What does not

  • 1-year warranty against 15 years on the premium verticals
  • 24 oz catch cup forces breaks on bigger batches
  • No published yield, pulp or cleanup figures

Skip this if: You juice for more than one person. A 24 oz container means stopping and emptying mid-session.

Questions people ask

Is the Nutribullet Slow Juicer a real cold press juicer?
Yes. Nutribullet states 65 RPM from a high-torque low-speed motor, which is genuine masticating mechanics rather than a fast spinning basket. It handles celery and leafy greens the way more expensive cold press machines do.
Does the Nutribullet Slow Juicer have a reverse function?
Yes, Nutribullet states one. It is the most useful feature a beginner can have on a cold press machine, because it clears a jammed auger in seconds rather than requiring a mid-glass disassembly.
How big is the Nutribullet Slow Juicer?
Nutribullet states 17 in high, 6.25 in wide and 7 in deep assembled -- the smallest genuine cold press machine we cover. Check your cabinet clearance, because you need room above it to load the chute.
What is the warranty?
Nutribullet states a 1-year limited warranty. That is the clearest difference between this price band and the premium machines, which quote up to 15 years.
Is 24 oz enough capacity?
For one person, yes -- a decent glass is 12 to 16 oz. For two people you will be stopping to empty it, which is the main practical limitation of the small footprint.
