Omega NC900HDC vs J8006HDS

Same auger, same speed, same 15-year warranty. One has five pressure settings. That is the whole comparison.

Buy the J8006HDS unless you specifically want adjustable extraction. The NC900HDC's five end-cap pressure settings are the only meaningful difference, and they matter for mixed produce and not much else. Everything else -- 80 RPM, horizontal auger, 15-year limited warranty -- is shared.

Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen. Every figure above is labeled with where it came from; “Not available” means we could not find a published source, not that the machine performs badly. How we pick.

What is the same

  • 80 RPM, stated by Omega for both.
  • A horizontal single auger, which is the shape that handles celery, greens and wheatgrass well.
  • A 15-year limited warranty, which is the longest cover in this price range and identical across both.
  • Nut butter, pasta and sorbet extrusion, marketed by Omega on both machines.
  • A narrow chute, so prep chopping either way.
  • Significant counter depth. Omega publishes 19.22 in width and 18.7 lb for the NC900HDC.

All figures are Omega's own. Blanks are genuinely unpublished rather than unresearched.

The five pressure settings are the real feature, and they are worth understanding rather than just noting. The end cap creates back-pressure that the auger squeezes against. More pressure means drier pulp from dense produce; less means soft produce can escape instead of packing and clogging.

That is the only documented extraction control published by any manufacturer on this site. It is not a yield claim -- it is an adjustable mechanism, which is a different and more trustworthy kind of thing.

Choose the NC900HDC if

  • You juice a genuinely varied mix. Hard carrots and soft tomatoes want different pressures, and this is the only machine that lets you change it.
  • You juice wheatgrass or very fibrous greens and want to run high pressure on them.
  • You want drier pulp and are prepared to experiment with settings to get it.
  • You want published dimensions before you buy. Omega states them for this model and not for the other.

Choose the J8006HDS if

  • You juice the same few things every day. You will set the pressure once and never touch it, so you are paying for a dial you will not use.
  • You want the same warranty for less. 15 years either way.
  • You want the money for produce instead. Over a year, the difference buys a lot of celery.
  • Simplicity appeals. Fewer settings is fewer things to get wrong at 7am.

Same auger, same speed, same warranty. One has a dial, and most people will set it once.

Our verdict

The J8006HDS for most buyers. It carries the same 15-year warranty and the same 80 RPM horizontal mechanism, and the pressure adjustment on its sibling is a feature most people set once and forget. Our best juicers page picks the J8006HDS as the overall winner for exactly this reason.

The NC900HDC is the right buy if you genuinely juice a varied mix and will use the settings -- and if you do, it is the best-equipped machine on this site for extraction control. Horizontal masticating juicers covers the wider category.

Same 80 RPM horizontal auger, same 15-year limited warranty, less money. The NC900HDC's five pressure settings are a real and documented feature, and most people will set them once and never touch them again. Buy the NC900HDC only if you genuinely juice a varied mix and will use the adjustment.

What works

  • 15-year warranty at a mid-range price
  • A horizontal auger handles stringy celery and greens well
  • Doubles as a nut-butter, pasta and sorbet extruder

What does not

  • Narrow chute means constant prep chopping
  • Takes significant counter depth
  • Omega publishes no yield or cleanup figure to compare

Skip this if: You juice mostly whole apples and oranges. You will spend your life chopping to fit a narrow horizontal chute.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between the Omega NC900HDC and the J8006HDS?
The NC900HDC has five adjustable end-cap pressure settings and two juicing screens; the J8006HDS has a triple-stage auger and no published pressure adjustment. Both state 80 RPM, a horizontal auger and a 15-year limited warranty.
Is the NC900HDC worth the extra money?
Only if you juice a genuinely varied mix and will use the pressure settings. Hard and soft produce want different back-pressure, and this is the only machine we cover that lets you change it. If you juice the same few things daily, the J8006HDS is the better buy.
Do both have the same warranty?
Yes. Omega states a 15-year limited warranty for both, which is the longest cover in this price range.
Which produces more juice?
Omega publishes no yield figure for either. The NC900HDC's adjustable pressure is a documented capability rather than a quantified advantage, and no independent test we found compares them.
Are both good for celery and greens?
Yes. Both are horizontal single-auger machines at 80 RPM, which is the shape and speed that handles long fiber well. The narrow chutes mean cutting celery to length either way.
